Sound insulation – also known as acoustic insulation. It involves the reduction of sound or limiting its propagation within a room or from one room to another. The results of research conducted on sound insulation are used, among other things, in modern construction and help in soundproofing walls through the use of special underlays.

An increase in sound insulation can be achieved through skillful room design and construction, as well as by using dedicated acoustic systems, including isolators. We distinguish, among others, longitudinal acoustic insulation, which involves limiting the propagation of acoustic waves between adjacent rooms.

Properly applied acoustic insulation helps in preparing high-quality recording studios, making sound recording more effective, and improving the quality of the played material. It also enhances the intensity of acoustic waves coming from the sound source and increases the comfort of concert participants or people using cinema services. Currently, sound insulation can also be utilized in home spaces.
