Voice – the voice is a phenomenon that arises from vibrations produced by the vocal cords. The voice consists of sounds at a given frequency. The human body is constructed in such a way that the vocal folds, together with the mouth, tongue, and teeth, can produce sounds with a very wide range. This allows us to change the tone of our voice, its pitch, or timbre in our daily lives. In the case of the voice, timbre and its range are individual characteristics of each person and can vary greatly.
The human voice is produced in the vocal folds. Women and men have vocal cords of different lengths, located above the trachea, which allows them to produce sounds of different timbres. Sound is created by the narrowing of the vocal cords, where the flowing air vibrates and generates sound. Its pitch and volume depend on the tension of the vocal folds and the rate of airflow through the created gap.
There are many types of voices, which differ between women and men.
Female voices include:
soprano (coloratura, lyrical, spinto, dramatic);
mezzo-soprano (coloratura, lyrical, dramatic);
alto;
contralto.
Male voices include:
countertenor;

baritone (lyrical, dramatic, bass-baritone);
bass (basso profondo, basso buffo).
