Vibroacoustics is one of the fields of science that deals with processes related to acoustics and vibrations in technology, machines, nature, means of communication and transport, as well as devices. Specialists in vibroacoustics also study phenomena occurring in living organisms.
As part of the research, changes occurring in mechanical-acoustic systems are analyzed. Thanks to this field, the suitability and efficiency of machines can be checked, as well as the intensity of vibrations within them. This science is also used in reducing the noise level of many devices, as well as in the construction of rooms.
The emergence of this field of science is attributed to Polish scientists, including those from the AGH University of Science and Technology. Among the pioneers of vibroacoustics are Czesław Cempel and Zbigniew Engel, who formulated the definition, tasks, and goals of this scientific discipline.
