Acoustics – is a field at the intersection of engineering and physics that deals with phenomena related to the generation and behavior of sound waves (acoustic). Research related to acoustics allows for the design of more efficient spaces where concerts are held or sounds are recorded. This includes concert halls, lecture rooms, recording studios, and cinemas.
In short, it is a branch of science that studies both theoretical and practical phenomena related to sounds audible to humans, as well as ultrasound and infrasound.
Acoustics is a highly developed field of science, which includes several sub-disciplines such as:
general acoustics;
applied acoustics (including: electroacoustics, building acoustics, urban acoustics, musical acoustics, psychological acoustics, physiological acoustics, marine acoustics, industrial acoustics, and geoacoustics).
It is worth emphasizing that acoustics is the oldest field of physics, which appeared in records around 3000 years before our era.
